Meredith Salenger, born March 14th, 1970 in Malibu California United States is one of the world's best known and richest actresses. Decker's family moved to Louisiana in the age of nine. Decker then won a regional talent contest with a rendition "I Want to Be A Cowboy's Lover" by Patsy Montana. Decker moved to Georgia when she was 15. She wrote songs frequently as well as visiting Nashville in search of discounts. Songs were released to record companies as well as other artists through a Big Yellow Dog Records agent in her teens. Decker was signed to a deal in 2009 with Island/Def Jam after Mercury Records' president David Massey passed her demos to L.A. Reid, head of Island/Def Jam. Then, in August of 2009 Decker released her first self-titled album, titled Jessie James. Jessie James had a moderately success debut record. Wanted, a song that was on the album made it to the Top 40 singles chart. Decker always thought of herself as a singer from the country genre However, the album's marketing and production was geared towards a more pop-oriented audience. Following two singles from the album, Decker confronted label executives to have more control over her music and her next track Boys in the Summer was more of a country-centric release. Decker's second album, announced as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was pulled after Mercury saw the poor performance of three of Decker's singles on the country charts.
