Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on the 28th of October 1967, in Atlanta. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father had the first interest to the theatre. While he was a student in Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in several productions. After joining the airforce and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter as well as his spouse were discharged from the Air Force in 1957 and enrolled Walter at Tulane University. Walter was a part of the Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when the family moved from Atlanta to Decatur in Georgia in the year 1960. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television program known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by on their own. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it lasted six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
