April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started with guitar and piano in seventh grade. This sparked curiosity. At the age of 12 April composed her first single Different. When she was 14, April spent much time writing songs and honed her musicianship abilities. She began writing with her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April also began incorporating other relevant topics into the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer as well as being a partner with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated her own audience. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on her disability. What message is it sending? The message is that we all share numerous identities. We're much far more complicated than we believe we are. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability should define my character. It's not my intention to influence disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct things normally, and I've discovered my own way to adjust things. In addition, I see that it is a crucial aspect of me. Lockhart encourages us to keep going with self-acceptance. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body, and also feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social platforms. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a goal. This is true for everyone, regardless of their insecurity. I think it is important to be surrounded by people who can really know the person you are.
