While I had one baby with me, and other babies with me in the cradle would work 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to look nice, but there were a few things that needed to be left. In this undertaking I was ready to shell out a substantial amount of money and time looking for my dream house. To stay on budget I began going to estate sales along with my three sons to find diamonds in the rough. Every week, we would go through estate sales and garage sales on Thursdays and Saturdays and purchase a variety of antique and brand new furniture. My next task was to spend working on my projects on our front lawn. It was kind of similar to this... Here's the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. When our house was furnished, I still couldn't quit! I also had a booth at the market, where I would sell objects. It was possible to expand my space because I owned many more pieces than I was able to use. I held open houses at my house where 1 000 visitors would pass through over a weekend, and the visitors were able to purchase items on the first floor. Growing Days was founded in my own home. The business wasn't just flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. Finding the balance was important for me. I wanted to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days just seemed to fit. In 2013, my beautiful daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. This was a fantastic direction for my business, however I was also in need of some time off. I took a break from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my family. At the time, it was what I wanted. It was only after several months that the phones started to be ringing. They asked for my help in interior decoration and home renovations. The majority of them were people who had been through my property during open house for furniture! Once I had a few months, I took on clients at my pace. In no time, I was managing several accounts and a home remodeling business. It would have probably laughed at me had I had told you that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. Indeed, I am laughing slightly when I recall it.
